the outvote fellowship

the outvote fellowship is a unique, paid opportunity to do meaningful work to mobilize LGBTQ+ young people in swing states.

This exclusive fellowship aims to empower LGBTQ+ Gen Z organizers with education, tools, community, and funding to support civic engagement in their communities.

In 2026, we are seeking applications from candidates who live and vote during the 2026 midterm elections in the Iowa-01, Michigan-07, and North Carolina-11 congressional districts. OutVote is hiring ten OutVote Fellows and one State Organizer per district. Applicants can confirm their congressional district here.

We are accepting applications and nominations through Sunday, May 17th at 11:59 pm PT.

The fellowship includes:

  • A comprehensive training program through the OutVote Institute, teaching fellows about relational organizing, voter registration, advocacy, and approaching this work through an equity lens.

  • A community of like-minded leaders working to engage our LGBTQ+ community.

  • A $1500 stipend and a $500 resource fund to support your organizing on campus.
